Stephen Kettle doesn't just sculpt; he obsession-builds history out of raw slate, piece by painstaking piece. For over two decades, Kettle has pioneered a meticulous technique—stacking hundreds of thousands of individual stone fragments (down to 200 slates just for a shoelace) to capture iconic human legacies. His works hold real estate in royal residences, Buckingham Palace, and Bletchley Park, drawing over 6.5 million viewers a year. From his legendary life-sized Alan Turing to commissions for King Charles III, Kettle’s craft is pure texture, raw detail, and sharp precision.

Will the artist actually be on-site?
You can find out whether the artist is in attendance on this page. Visit and see the information at the top of the specified event page, which will highlight if any artists will be in attendance or not.
Can I get an artwork signed, or bring something from home?
Pieces bought on the day can usually be signed by the artist—just double-check with the team on arrival. For safety and insurance reasons, keep your home collection in the garage rather than bringing it along.
What do I need at entry to prove I’m on the list?
Once you RSVP, book your ticket or seat, you'll have nothing else to worry about. Your email confirmation is your pass through the gates—just show it on your phone.
Can I bring a guest?
You can select your party size when you make a booking. Capacity limits apply, so if you're bringing extra friends to share the experience, please ensure they are included in your booking or have booked their own tickets/seats.
Will there be cameras on the floor?
Our media crew may be capturing high-energy photos and video snippets throughout the event for our digital channels. If you’d rather stay out of the frame, just give one of The Gallery team a heads-up on arrival.
